Face911 part2

IMG_0954This is my second Blog post in the new series I am doing “ Face911”

After looking online and not being able to find everything I wanted I decided to go into the Canal Walk store and was greeted by the friendliest staff. After having a chat to the sales assistant and with my homework done on what I want to buy and for what I need it I bought the following. The great thing about the body shop is that they almost always have specials on and if they don’t you can almost always find specials on their products  at clicks.

I mainly tried out two ranges Drops of Light(DOL) , Tea Tree(TT) range, Drops of Youth(DOY)

Chamomile Cleansing Butter- was the first on my list. It’s great for taking of your make-up. The make-up melts of your face. I was pleasantly surprised that it takes off my colour pop liquid lippies and waterproof  mascara with ease. The directions say “Apply to dry face and massage into skin. Rinse off with warm water or remove with a wet muslin cloth for a more thorough cleanse” I could not find this online or in Clicks so when I saw it at the body shop I bought two just to be safe. The normal retail price is R190.00 .

DOL Cleansing Foam- I never was a fan of a foam cleanser but because this range only had a foam cleanser I bought it. I was pleasantly surprised that this was very rich and creamy not what I expected at all. The Directions say “Apply a pea-sized amount onto fingertips and massage gently onto a wet face and neck, creating a lather, then rinse off. Use every morning and evening.” The normal retail price is R150.00.

IMG_0900TT oil facial toner- Since the DOL range didn’t have a toner I decided to go for the Tea Tree toner as I am having problems with break-outs and it is clinically proven to give clearer skin. The toner you have to shake before use to activate the ingredience in it. The toner does not dry out my skin as others have done in the past. It does however burn my skin abit. The directions say “Saturate a cotton wool pad and sweep across a cleansed face and neck” The normal retail price is R95.00.

IMG_0914DOL Brightening Essence Lotion-  The lotion prepares the skin for the products that follow. It had a gell like consistence. It enhances translucency, brightness and an even skin tone. It makes your skin appear brighter and healthy. The directions say “ Pour a few drops into the alm of your hand or onto a cotton pad. Apply to face every morning and evening after cleansing and toning, then follow with your serum and moisturiser.” I find it best to put 2-3 drops in my hands and then press it into my face. The normal retain price is R180.00.

IMG_0891DOL Brightening Serum- The Serum absorbs very quickly into your skin so you want to act fast in putting it onto your face. It instantly makes your skin look brighter and more luminous. I have read reviews that say that it helps reduce pores and dark spots. I use this morning and night. The directions say “Apply 2 to 3 drops onto the face and neck and gently massage into skin every morning and evening before applying a cream. The normal retail price is R275.00.

IMG_0878DOL Brightening Day Cream – I use the cream only in the morning. The cream provides hydration for, for softer, smoother skin. It brightens skin and skin tone is even and clarified. The directions say “Massage onto the face and neck every morning after applying your serum. The normal retail price is R220.00.

IMG_0917DOL Skin Defence Multi-Protection Essence – Perfect to put over your day cream that has SPF50 to protect your skin from the sun. The strongest multi-protection to help protect your skin day after day. UVA protection helps protect skin from UVA rays including long UVA rays, which reach deep within the skin and accelerate the process of skin ageing. UVB protection SPF50 helps protect skin from UVB rays that trigger redness and damage the skin’s surface. Anti-oxidant helps protect skin from external aggressors such as environmental pollution that weakens the skin’s ability to remain healthy. Anti-dullness with red algae extract and vit C to brighten skin for a more luminous complexion. The directions say “ Massage onto the face and neck every morning after day cream” The normal retail price is R285.00

IMG_0907DOL Pure Resurfacing Liquid Peel- The transforming gel-to-peel traps and gently peels off impurities and dead skin cells. It makes the skin luminous and skin texture refined. It is rich in VitC , Minerals and nutrient. The directions say “ 2-3 times per week for best results. Dispense 2 pumps onto fingertips and massage onto face for up to 20 seconds until exfoliating ‘residue’ appear noticeably and are peeled off. Rinse thoroughly with water” I find that one pump is enough. The normal retail price is R200.00

IMG_0955TT Face Mask- This clay-based mask deep cleanses to encourage clearer skin. I again got the Tea Tree mask as it minimises breakouts and combats blemishes while absorbing excess oil. The directions say “ Smooth a thin layer onto pat-dried skin, Clean face and neck your fingertips. Leave for 5 to 10 min(mask will not dry). The rinse off with clean water and pat skin dry. Use once or twice per week after cleansing. Normal retails for R130.00

IMG_0958TT Oil- This I only bought because while at the shop my boyfriend who was sick said it opened his nose. While that was the reason I bought it, I have used it many times when I feel a blemish starting to form. The directions say “For blemishes, apply a small amount directly onto blemishes using a clean cotton bud or your fingertip as preferred. For bathing, add six drops into bath once it has run, and dispense with your hand, for aromatic and soothing soak. Add to a warm foot bath, to help combat foot odour. For facial steaming or inhalation, add three or four drops to a bowl of steaming water, lean over the bowl and cover your head with a towel. Inhale deeply for a few min. For massage, warm six drops between the palms of your hands and then massage straight onto the skin, using palms and fingers to distribute them evenly over the body applying extra pressure to work tired or tense muscles. If preferred it can be used with carrier oil. Normal retail price R95.00.

IMG_0936DOY Eye Concentrate – enriched with Edelweiss plan stem cell. It soothes the appearance of lines, bags and fatigue. The directions say “ Apply before your day moisturiser or eye cream. Gently press the pump once , Roll in a figure of 8 motion around the eye area. Gently pat the eye area with your fingers to help absorb the product. Normal retail price R195.00

IMG_0928Vitamin E Eyes Cube- I use this under my make-up to moisturize my under eyes. It enriches with wheat gem oil. The directions say “ Glide under each eye from inner to outer corner, towards the upper lid. If you need to, dab lightly with ring finger to help the formula absorb completely. Normal retail price R155.00

I didn’t get any photo’s of the Chamomile Cleansing Butter and DOL Cleansing Foam as they are in the bathroom. I will be doing an update next week and will then show them.
